Taaj's Workshops
Taaj offers two different dance workshop class options and one business
building workshop. The dance workshops can each be one
day workshops or put together for a weekend intensive.
Intermediate Topics
The sponsor chooses the conceptual focal point of the workshop, such as
choreography creation, musicality, beledi, working with travel patterns,
or increasing artistry. Taaj starts the workshop by explaining the
elements that are being highlighted in the day's lesson, then illustrates
that through choreography. She closes the workshop with a question and
answer session to make sure that everyone understands the concepts. This
workshop is targeted to all level dancers and beginning instructors. If
you are in the BDT certification program and are having trouble with the
material, you are encouraged to come to or sponsor this type of workshop.
Intermediate Intensive
The intermediate intensive starts with a workshop, so it's a great
second day to Intermediate Topics. Taaj watches up to 10 performers dance
and provides them with a private, written critique of what they did
well and what they could improve upon. The following workshop is created
with group exercises that strengthen the weaknesses of the performers that
were critiqued. You do not have to participate in the performance/critique
section to benefit from the class, but will have more personal feedback if
you do. This is a great way to get a semi-private lesson that is created
just for you! It's an awesome way to buff up your competition performance
before getting the judges feedback.
The Obvious Belly Dance Expert
This workshop builds on the material presented in Taaj's Obvious Expert
e-book. It is designed to help the budding dance entrepreneur define her
business objectives and increase her clientele. The sponsor can choose
which topics to focus on including: business cards, media kits,
interviewing, marketing materials, etc.
